The Cropped Trench

Color:Light Khaki
Size & fit

True to size. 5'6" and 140 lb wears the M; 5'4" wears the S. Cut with a little room so a fine knit goes underneath, but it isn't oversized.

If you want it loose over a thick jumper, take one size up. The hem sits at the hip bone, which is what keeps the leg line long.

Fabric & care

Smooth cotton-blend shell, fully lined in check — body and sleeves both, so you can roll the cuff back and it still reads.

Light in the hand but tight enough to block wind. Machine wash cold, hang to dry, warm iron on the shell if needed. Don't tumble dry: the shell and the lining shrink at different rates.

Shipping & returns

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. You'll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your parcel ships.

You have 30 days from delivery to return an item, unworn and with its tags. Full detail in our shipping and refund policies.

Cropped On Purpose. Legs For Days.

The one thing a full-length trench can't do.

The check is the whole thing

Bought it for the lining honestly. Roll the cuffs back and it changes the outfit. I'm 5'4" in the small and it's exactly right.

Took it to Paris with nothing else

Packed flat, wore it every evening. Never once needed the big coat I left at home.

Finally a jacket that doesn't shorten me

I'm 5'3" and every trench I've tried makes me look like a kid in her mum's coat. This stops at the hip and it's a completely different silhouette.

Great jacket, wanted more room

Fits true but I like a thick jumper underneath and it's snug over one. Ordered the next size up in a second colour, no regrets.

Roll the cuff

The check runs through the body and the sleeves, so it shows whether you leave it open, button it up, or turn the cuff back. Most people buy it for this detail alone.

Frequently asked questions

That's what it's built for. The hem sits at the hip bone rather than mid-thigh, so it doesn't take height off you. Reviewers at 5'2"–5'4" take the S.

No, and it isn't meant to be. It blocks wind and works over a knit in spring and autumn. For January you want a wool coat.

A fine knit yes, in your usual size. For a chunky cable knit, take one size up.

Yes — at the cuff, and along the front edge where it sits open at the top. Roll the sleeve back and you get the full panel.
